Alina Mikolajczyk

Alina Mikolajczyk is a translator/interpreter and an educational consultant. She is a member of the ATA (American Translators Association) and assists students with evaluation and transferring foreign education certificates and credits, choosing a college and securing a student visa.

alin mikolajczyk bwMikolajczyk has been promoting education among the Polish immigrant community since 1993; formerly at the National Louis University where she served as the Assistant Director of Student Enrollment, and since 2005 as the owner of Educational & Communication Consulting.

Mikolajczyk works closely with the Polish Radio FM and other media, organizations and colleges in Illinois and beyond. She is the author of numerous articles on education in the United States.

Mikolajczyk immigrated to the United States from Poland in 1992. She has a Master of Arts in Teaching and Linguistics degree from the University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland and took graduate level courses in Adult Education, Communication and Counseling at the National Louis University in Chicago.

She serves as Vice-President of Polish Women in Business where she formerly held the post of President from 2009 – 2013.

J. T. Jezierski

J. T. Jezierski, a native of Weirton, West Virginian, has experience in the Executive and Legislative Branches and on political campaigns. He most recently served as Senior Advisor for Evan Jenkins for Congress in West Virginia’s Third Congressional District. Jezierski previously served as Legislative Director for Rep. David McKinley in West Virginia’s First Congressional District.

Jezierski bw 720Jezierski worked on the campaigns of Mitt Romney for President, having served as Legislative Affairs Director in 2012 and Director of Elected Official Outreach in 2008. He also served in the Executive Office of the President in the Office of Presidential Personnel during the term of George W. Bush and at the Republican National Committee.

Jezierski has an extensive background in space policy, working at NASA during the Bush Administration as White House Liaison and Deputy Chief of Staff. He was Legislative Director for Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) when Olson was Ranking Member on the Space Subcommittee. Jezierski also was Legislative Director and Deputy Chief of Staff for Rep. Steven Palazzo (MS-4), when Palazzo was Chairman of the Space Subcommittee. On the Science, Space, and Technology Committee under Chairman Lamar Smith (TX), Jezierski was Director of Coalitions and Member Services.

He has also previously worked at DCI Group and the Institute for American Values.

Jezierski received his Bachelor’s Degree from Wheeling-Jesuit University and his Master’s from Regent University.

Beata Debek

Beata D. Debek is a financial officer at the World Bank Treasury, where she mediates with a wide range of external and internal clients, including central banks, public pension funds, and sovereign wealth funds on issues related to asset management and investment governance.

beata debekShe holds a Master of International Public Policy degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington, DC, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from DePaul University in Chicago. She also passed the CPA examination in the state of Illinois. Beata is the co-editor of Governance and Investment of Public Pension Assets: Practitioners' Perspectives, a World Bank publication.

Beata has extensive hands-on experience in international corporate finance. Prior to joining the World Bank in 2008, she worked in the private sector, in Citibank, Warsaw, and TransUnion, Chicago. Fluent in Spanish, she managed multiple control functions, including financial, accounting, reporting, and operations of international subsidiaries in Latin America, as well as in Central and Eastern Europe, and Central Asia. She briefly worked as a federal and state tax associate at Grant Thornton and has diverse experience as an accountant and financial analyst.

Beata previously served on the Board of Directors for the Polish Museum of America and was a Midwest Liaison for the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation. As the principal organizer, she marshaled the Solidarity exhibit "Roads to Freedom," in Chicago, in cooperation with the Solidarity Center in Gdansk. She was also a member of The Legion of Young Polish Women in Chicago.

    Our 501 (c) (4) status allows us to lobby and support specific legislation that represents the interests of Polish Americans such as initiatives being undertaken in the US Congress that would pave the way for Poland’s entry into the Visa Waiver Program.

    The American Advisory Council is committed to building relationships and facilitating access to key policy makers and fostering dialogue that helps achieve tangible results.
