The American Polish Advisory Council (APAC) will host a symposium on shaping Poland’s image in mainstream media on Saturday, September 24th at the Kosciuszko Foundation, 15 E 65th St., in New York.
The American Polish Advisory Council, a Washington, DC based non-profit organization whose mission is to engage Polish Americans in the political process, has launched recruitment efforts to fill several vacancies on the organization’s board of directors.
Members of the 12-person board are elected for a period of three years and are charged with governing the organization’s operations and shaping its agenda. Board members meet once a year and participate in monthly conference calls.
“Our goal has always been for the board to be first and foremost bipartisan, to reflect the nature of our organization, but also to have a wide geographic representation”, said APAC’s president Darek Barcikowski. New officers, including a vice president, secretary and treasurer will be elected in the fall.
In addition to recruiting board members, the American Advisory Council is also seeking new honorary board members and advisors. Honorary board members engage in actively promoting the organization while members of the organization’s Advisory Council provide guidance on issues that shape APAC’s agenda. Members of both the Honorary Board and the Advisory Council serve without term limits.
